Ableton and Martin von Frantzius release FlexGroove
Berlin, Germany, March 19, 2020 – FlexGroove is a brand new Max for Live device for off-the-grid MIDI sequencing. It gives music makers the ability to speed up and slow down the timing of MIDI clips, experiment with unconventional swing patterns and smoothly transition between tempos.
The device’s effect can be anywhere from a gentle nudge off the grid to controlled chaos. It’s ideal for music makers who are looking to discover new rhythmic possibilities, experiment with elastic timing, or simply create more expressive and humanized MIDI patterns. FlexGroove rhythmic patterns can be exported as MIDI clips, applied to different sounds and woven into productions to create complex polyrhythms.
Featuring 35 timing presets and 59 pattern presets, there are a total of 2065 combinations of timing, velocity and probability to play with. For tactile control of the key parameters, FlexGroove is fully Push enabled.
