Tjo. Allt är junte som det borde vara då. Nyuppsnappat från CW-forumet:

OMG! This is a REALLY, REALLY serious, horrendous bug!

I confirmed it for a bunch of vst plugins.

It failed on vst plugins that I tested from (one or more plugins from each vendor):

o Kjaerhus Audio

o Cakewalk's own Vintage Channel VC64 (Kjaerhus engine)

o FabFilter

o PSP Audioware

o Refined Audiometrics

o SilverSpike

o Sonalksis

o Sonic Flavors

o Tone2 / ReFX

o Wave Arts

o 4Front

It does not fail on the vst plugins I tested from Native Instruments, Voxengo, ArtsAcoustic and others.

It seems to be the last parameter, as noted by Don.

I didn't find any DX plugins that failed, but I only tested a couple.

It is 100% reproducible on my system.

Steps to reproduce:

o open Sonar 6.0.1 and create an empty project

o add an audio track

o add a vst plugin from one of the vendors above to the effects bin of the audio track

o open the plugin's UI and change its last parameter

o save the project

o close and reopen the project

o the saved (last) parameter retains its default value, not the one you set in your project -- HOLY SMOKES!!!

Note: if you don't know which parameter is the last one for a plugin, do a right-click on the plugin in the effects bin and select Write Enable Parameters ... Scroll to the bottom of that list. Another way to find out this information is to right click in the track and select Envelope > Create Track Envelope > {plugin}

Note: Using the "track envelope" method above to find a plugin's last parameter leads to a VERY TEDIOUS workaround, namely, add a track envelope for the last parameter and use that envelope to adjust the parameter's value. When you use a track envelope to set the last parameter, it gets saved properly in the project.

Another interesting point: If you first make an instance of Chainer, EnergyXT, Console or other similar "container-type" plugin in Sonar and then add the plugin inside it (the container), the last parameter is saved properly. This could be another workaround except that you will lose PDC in the process.

Don, I think you might want to change the title of this thread to red flag it even more. It seems to me it's a super NASTY bug that is going to bite a LOT of folks. Good job in finding this potential mix killer!

Hela tråden här:

Cakewalks Tom Roussell är medveten om problemet (deltar i tråden) och kommer fixa till en fix i nästa uppgradering, vilken lär dyka upp om nån månad eller två.
