Pulsar Audio har kommit ut med sin tappning på klassiska kompressorn 1776. Eller i detta faller stereoversionen 1178. Förutom att göra en klon på en klassisk kompressor har de implementerat en del användbara moderna funktioner.  (In English at the bottom of the page).

För ett par år sedan dumpade jag alla mina UAD-plugins för att slippa koppla in saker till min laptop när jag var på resande fot. Ända sedan dess har jag saknat en vettig 1176 plugin. Jag vet att det finns en uppsjö, men jag har inte riktigt fastnat för någon. 1178 från Pulsar Audio kommer jag nog däremot bli tvungen att köpa efter att min recensionslicens gått ut. Jag kan inte säga på rak arm att den låter mer lik en 1176 än någon annan plugin jag testat, men den har en del moderna funktioner som gör den här pluggen väldigt mycket mer mångsidig än många konkurrenter. Sen låter den grymt också. Ta kika på videon för lite exempel!

Pulsar Audio 1178 – Classic but modern compressor

Pulsar Audio came out with their take in the classic 1176 compressor. In this case the stereo version 1178. Besides making a clone of a classic piece of gear they also implemented a lot of useful modern features.

A couple of years ago I ditched all my UAD plugins to avoid having to plug external stuff to my laptop while traveling. Since then I’ve been missing a really good 1176 plugin. I know that there’s a bunch of them, but none of them really stuck with me. I will probably have to buy 1178 from Pulsar Audio when my NRF license expires. I can’t really say it sounds more like a real 1176 then any other plugin I tried, but some of the modern features makes this plugin very versatile compared to it’s competition. And it sound really good too. Have a look at the video for some examples!
