Det finns många produktionsknep för att få en bredare mix. I veckans video kommer jag med ett som kanske inte är helt revolutionerande, men kanske nytt för just dig. (In English at the bottom of the page).

Under inspelningen av ett album med bandet Foreign Words ville vi framhämta basspelets roll i vissa partier. Det vi gjorde vara att dubba basen genom en Rat-distpedal rakt in i mixerbordet utan att gå via förstärkare. Vi gjorde två spår som panorerades ut full höger och vänster. Det här knepet är något som även funkar bra för att ge mer bredd och närhet till gitarrspåren om man blandar in det på rätt, snyggt sätt.

Widen your mix with distorted bass guitar
There are many production tricks to get a wider mix. I this weeks video I will show you one, that might not be the most revolutionary, but maybe new for you. During the recording of an album with the band Foreign Words we wanted to bring out the bass guitar I certain parts. What we did was to double track the bass through a Rat distortion pedal straight to the console without an amp. We did this twice and panned it hard left and right. This trick also worked really good to brighten out the width and presence of guitar tracks if you blend it in a nice way.
